Registration has opened in Lviv for the Lviv Japan Business Forum, an international forum on Ukrainian-Japanese business partnership, which will take place on 24 September under the slogan “Lviv Vision. Japan Innovation. Global Partnership”.
The event is intended to become an annual platform for developing cooperation between Ukrainian and Japanese businesses. The main organiser of the forum is the Investment and Projects Department of the Lviv City Council. The event continues the work of the Japan Desk Lviv initiative, which operates within this department to deepen economic cooperation, attract investment and build partnerships between companies and institutions in Ukraine and Japan.
The Lviv Japan Business Forum will bring together representatives of business, government bodies, international organisations and financial institutions from both countries. The programme includes strategic discussions and practical formats of interaction. Participants will discuss opportunities for investing in Ukraine, the experience of Japanese companies operating in wartime conditions, existing tools for supporting investors, the prospects for Ukrainian-Japanese economic partnership and the role of cities in attracting international capital.
A separate part of the forum will be B2B Matchmaking, a series of pre-arranged one-to-one meetings between Ukrainian and Japanese companies. Before the event, participants will gain access to a dedicated online platform where they will be able to view company profiles, select potential partners and create their own meeting schedules.
Japanese companies that already operate in Ukraine or are considering entering the Ukrainian market are invited to take part, as are Ukrainian enterprises interested in cooperation with Japanese partners, along with representatives of government institutions, investment agencies, international financial organisations and business associations.
“Over the year of Japan Desk Lviv’s work, we have seen that Japan’s interest in Ukraine goes far beyond individual projects. Businesses need a platform where they can find partners, obtain practical information about operating on the Ukrainian market and speak directly with representatives of the authorities and companies. This is exactly the kind of platform we envisage the Lviv Japan Business Forum to be. Our goal is to make it an annual international platform where new Ukrainian-Japanese partnerships and investment projects are born,” said Andrii Pavliv.
The organisers report that applications to participate in the forum are already open for Ukrainian and Japanese companies seeking new partners, as well as for representatives of relevant institutions.
