In Lviv, the traffic layout at the junction of Horodotska, Sambirska and S. Velychka streets has been changed: additional lanes for left turns have been installed and separate traffic light sections for these manoeuvres have been put in place. According to the specialists’ plan, this should streamline traffic flows and reduce the risk of side collisions.
The works were carried out jointly by LKP «Lvivavtodor» and the Zaliznychnyi District Administration. The enterprise developed a new traffic light control programme, installed additional traffic light sections, and also renewed road markings and installed the necessary road signs.
According to the director of LKP «Lvivavtodor» Mykola Vlasiuk, the greatest danger at this junction arose during left turns from Horodotska Street, when vehicles crossed oncoming traffic.

It is noted that the changes to the traffic layout at this junction were preliminarily approved by the city road safety commission.
