From 28 August, a new traffic management scheme is being introduced at the roundabout at Kozelnytska and Ivana Franka streets in Lviv. Drivers of private cars and public transport are urged to pay close attention to the updated road signs and markings.
According to the Sykhiv District Administration, in the evening beforehand new road markings will be applied at the junction and new road signs will be unveiled, after which the new traffic pattern will come into effect the following morning.
Previously, vehicles travelling from Ivana Franka Street towards Kozelnytska Street or Panasa Myrnoho Street were forced to enter the roundabout. This complicated traffic flow and required additional manoeuvres from drivers.
After the changes, vehicles will be able to cross the junction without entering the roundabout. The roundabout will remain in place, but will be used mainly for accessing the car park and for turning vehicles around.
The Sykhiv District Administration notes that the new traffic management scheme is intended to simplify the route layout, make it clearer for drivers, improve safety on this stretch of road, and also improve conditions for public transport and passenger comfort.
The decision to change the traffic management scheme at the Kozelnytska – Ivana Franka roundabout has been approved by the Patrol Police of Lviv Region.
