In the Sheptytskyi community, six veterans who have disabilities as a result of the war have received housing certificates to purchase their own homes. This was reported by the Department of Labour and Social Protection of the Population of the Sheptytskyi City Council.
A housing certificate entitles the holder to a cash compensation for the purchase of housing. A family can independently choose what exactly to buy — a flat or a private house. A mandatory condition of the programme is that the property must already have been commissioned.
Under Resolution No. 719 of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, the right to receive such compensation is granted, in particular, to persons with disabilities as a result of war in disability groups I and II who are on the housing register and meet the requirements set out in the legislation.
To make use of the programme, it is necessary to:
- have an officially recognised status as a person with a disability as a result of war;
- be on the housing register;
- submit an application and the required set of documents to the authorised body;
- undergo the procedure for reviewing the documents and determining eligibility for compensation;
- after a positive decision is made, open a special account in an authorised bank.
The Department of Labour and Social Protection of the Population of the Sheptytskyi City Council accepts documents and provides consultations for programme participants at the following address: Sheptytskyi, 1 Sokal Street, 4th floor, office 404.
