In the Striy community, a forced increase in tariffs for water supply and sewerage is expected from the beginning of the New Year. The city council notes that the current rates no longer cover the costs of municipal enterprises.
According to officials, they are currently working with economists on various options to find a balance between the needs of the enterprises and the capacities of consumers. The aim is to ensure that the percentage increase remains moderate and lower than what would follow from full economic justification.
The tariff structure takes into account the wage fund for employees, energy costs, as well as the funds needed for repairs and modernisation of networks and equipment. It is precisely the rise in these components, according to the community, that is forcing a review of service prices.
The planned changes and the upgrades already implemented using the enterprises’ own funds were outlined by Deputy Mayor Mykhailo Zhuravchak, head of the municipal enterprise “Stryivodokanal” Roman Palyuk and head of the municipal enterprise “Vodokanal Plus” Orest Korostynskyi. The detailed parameters of the new tariffs in the community are still being worked out.
