In Stryi, veterans who have lost their sight receive UAH 95,000 in support

In Stryi, a state project is being implemented to support veterans who have completely or partially lost their sight while defending Ukraine’s independence. As part of this programme, nine veterans from the Stryi community have already received a one-off payment of UAH 95,000 to purchase household appliances.

Another five people from the Stryi community have been included on the list of recipients and are awaiting the transfer of funds to their accounts.

The project is being implemented in accordance with Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 674 of 27 May 2026 “On approval of the Procedure for the implementation of a joint project with the Ukrainian Red Cross Society to provide support to certain categories of persons who have completely or partially lost their sight while defending the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine”. The document was developed by the Ministry of Veterans Affairs together with the Ukrainian Red Cross Society.

The community notes the contribution of benefactors and the veterans policy department, who have been involved in organising and implementing this support programme for affected defenders.
