Ukraine offered Poland to build the first toll freeway in our country through the Lviv region

Транскордонне сполучення: Пропозиція України для Польщі щодо спільного будівництва автодороги Краковець-Рівне

The Prime Minister of Ukraine proposes a strategic partnership with Poland to build the Krakovets-Rivne highway, which will extend the Polish A4 highway.

Ukraine’s Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal has approached Poland with a proposal to cooperate in the construction of the Krakowiec-Rivne highway. This initiative, which is part of the A4 highway expansion, aims to strengthen cross-border connectivity, contributing to a potential success story for both countries. In addition, Ukraine is proposing the joint development of four additional border crossing points, which will contribute to regional integration.

Shmyhal said this during a joint briefing with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk.

The proposal envisages Poland’s participation in the development of the Krakowiec-Lviv-Brody-Rivne highway, which is a continuation of Poland’s longest highway, the A4, which is part of the E40 pan-European corridor.

Shmyhal sees this joint project as a shared success for both countries. In addition, Ukraine has offered Poland to build four additional border crossing points, bringing the total number of border crossings to 18.

Ukraine plans to start construction of the first section of the highway from Krakowiec to Brody and Rivne in 2022, for which it has already conducted relevant research and traffic studies.
