The finance department of LOVA spoke about capital investments of medical institutions of territorial communities

It was reported there that over the past two years, the health care institutions of the territorial communities of the region allocated more than 1.5 billion hryvnias for the purchase of medical equipment, which is 12 times higher than the similar expenses of 2015-2016.

This was reported in the Finance Department of the Lviv Regional Military Administration.

“The largest funds were allocated to medical institutions of the Lviv territorial community – more than 996 million hryvnias. Today, two magnetic resonance imaging machines worth over UAH 100 million, ultrasound diagnostic equipment – UAH 160 million, surgical and rehabilitation equipment – UAH 409 million, breathing apparatuses and ventilators – UAH 53 million, X-ray systems – 62 million hryvnias and much more,” the department noted.

Considerable funds were also allocated to health care institutions of Novoyavorivska territorial community – UAH 93 million, Drohobytska – UAH 88 million, Sambirska – UAH 37 million, Yavorivska – UAH 36 million, Chervonogradska – UAH 34 million, Buska – UAH 33 million, Stryiska and Mostyska communities UAH 27 million and UAH 13 million, respectively.

“With these funds, the Novoyavoriv hospital named after Yu. Lypy and Drohobytsk City Hospital No. 1 purchased magnetic resonance imaging machines; Stebnytsia city hospital of Drohobytsk city council, Buska, Sambirska and Yavorivska central district hospitals – computer tomography. Diagnostic, X-ray and surgical equipment was updated in the medical institutions of the Drohobytsk territorial community in the amount of over UAH 18 million, Chervonogradska – UAH 19 million, Novoyavorivska – UAH 14 million, Sambirska and Yavorivska – UAH 13 million each, Buska – UAH 11 million, Stryiska – 11, 6 million hryvnias, Mostyska – 7.9 million hryvnias,” the finance department informed.

Significant amounts of expenses for the renewal of medical equipment are a small part of the need, because the wear and tear of the fixed assets of hospitals is very high. And only capital investments in the health care system in the context of reforming the industry will contribute to healthy competition and improving the quality of medical services.
