Yesterday, August 15, another meeting of the Coordinating Council of the Biosphere Reserve “Roztochcha” at the Lviv OVA was held.
The Coordinating Council of the Biosphere Reserve “Roztochchya” includes scientists, leaders of Yavorivska, Novoyavorivska, Rava-Ruska, Dobrosynsko-Magerivska and Zhovkivska territorial communities, Yavorivska and Lviv regional state administrations and district councils, the “Roztochchia” nature reserve, Yavorivsk NPP and RLP “Ravske Roztochchia” “.
During the meeting of the Coordinating Council, they considered the feasibility of developing a strategy for the development of the “Roztochchia” biosphere reserve, discussed the possibilities of attracting funds from international donors for territorial communities that are part of the biosphere reserve. Attention was also paid to the impact of Russia’s armed aggression on the reserve.
Oksana Viytyk, acting director the director of the department of ecology and natural resources of the Lviv regional government during the meeting noted that the main goal of the development of the “Roztochcha” biosphere reserve is the development of local communities, the revival of traditional crafts, folk crafts, tireless use of nature, preservation of biodiversity, conducting scientific research, supporting the cultivation of environmentally friendly agricultural products , preservation of historical and cultural heritage, carrying out ecological and educational activities, development of green tourism.
We remind you that the status of a biosphere reserve is recognition on the international stage of significant natural, landscape and cultural values and their significant role in the general system of environmental protection.
Summing up the meeting of the coordination council, Oksana Viytyk noted that only joint actions of territorial communities, district state administrations, scientists and institutions of the nature reserve fund can contribute to the preservation of natural biodiversity and the development of the region in general.
