Reconstruction in the town of Pustomyty began in 2019. As of today, about 50% of the works have been completed.
The goal of the project is the reconstruction of the existing sewage treatment facilities for the treatment of economic and domestic wastewater with the introduction of modern energy-saving technologies of full biological treatment.
The design capacity of treatment facilities is 2700 m3 per day – two stages of 1350 m3 per day.
Completion of the first phase of construction is planned for 2023.
The works are being carried out at the expense of the regional environmental protection fund and the local budget: in 2023, more than 8.9 million UAH are provided from the regional fund of the National Environmental Protection Agency and almost 6 million UAH from the local budget.
The funds will be used for the reconstruction of the technological building with a transformer substation, the laying of external power supply networks, the laying of external technological communications, the installation of mechanical and biological sewage treatment equipment, and the improvement of the territory.
“The complete reconstruction of the sewage treatment facilities will have a positive impact on the territory of not only the Pustomytiv community, but also other communities of the Lviv Region, as thanks to its successful implementation, soil and water pollution of the Stavchanka River and the Dniester River will be reduced,” said the Acting Director. Oksana Viytyk, Director of the Department of Ecology and Natural Resources of LOVA.
