Since April 1, a spawning ban on fishing has been in effect in the Lviv region

Residents are urged to observe fishing regulations.

From April 1, the spring-summer spawning period of fish begins in Ukraine, therefore a ban on its fishing has been established.

In particular, such a ban will apply in Lviv Oblast:

– in the basin of the Dniester River from April 1 to June 10;

– in the basins of the Western Bug, Sian and Styr rivers from April 1 to May 20;

– in all reservoirs, technical reservoirs from April 1 to June 10;

– in ancillary systems of reservoirs (channels, estuaries, backwaters, overflows of reservoirs that are temporarily filled with water during the spring flood) from April 1 to June 30;

The ban does not apply to aquaculture entities registered with fish protection authorities.

Users of special commercial fisheries may use the regime of fishery exploitation of water bodies in accordance with the conditions established by legislation and permit documents.

During the period of the spawning ban on the extraction (catch) of aquatic biological resources in fisheries water bodies, sailing of ships and movement of other means of transport is carried out in accordance with Article 39 of the Law of Ukraine “On Animal World”.

The list of areas of water bodies of the Lviv region that are not prohibited for recreational fishing under the conditions of general water use in 2023 is available at the link.
