The Social Protection Department of Drohobych City Council has reported reimbursement to carriers of around UAH 2.9 million for concessionary road passenger transport in September 2026.
The payments were made under the city programme of compensatory payments for concessionary road passenger transport for certain categories of citizens in 2026, approved by Decision No. 3690 of Drohobych City Council dated 11.12.2025.
According to the department, carriers providing concessionary services on city bus routes for general use were compensated for 95,000 concessionary journeys totalling UAH 2,850,000.
The following categories of citizens are entitled to free travel on city buses:
- combatants (including ATO and JFO) and ATO volunteer fighters;
- persons with disabilities as a result of war and the person accompanying a group I war invalid;
- persons classified as category I victims of the Chornobyl disaster;
- persons involved in the clean-up of the consequences of the accident at the Chornobyl NPP who belong to category II;
- persons with group I and II disabilities, as well as the person accompanying a group I invalid;
- parents of fallen service personnel;
- family members of a fallen (deceased) war veteran;
- family members of missing and captured service personnel;
- veterans of military service, internal affairs bodies, the tax militia, the state fire service, the State Criminal-Executive Service of Ukraine, the civil protection service, the State Service of Special Communications and Information Protection of Ukraine, and veterans of the National Police;
- rehabilitated persons (rehabilitated and those who suffered from repressions);
- children from large families.
These compensatory payments make it possible to ensure unobstructed concessionary travel for the specified categories of residents of the Drohobych community and to support local road passenger carriers that provide such services.
