In the Drohobych community, a payment of 100,000 hryvnias has been awarded for the first time to a large family in which a fourth child has been born. The money will be provided under the targeted Programme of Social Support for Large Families for 2026–2027, approved by Decision No. 4107 of the Drohobych City Council dated 4 June 2026. The first award of this payment was announced by the Head of the Family and Youth Department, Oleksandra Pashko.
This programme operates in the Drohobych community as an initiative of the Mayor, Taras Kuchma, aimed at supporting the birth rate and improving the demographic situation. The document was drafted by the Family and Youth Department, and is funded from the local budget through the Social Protection Department of the Drohobych City Council.
The financial assistance is intended for large families already raising three children under the age of 18, in which a fourth or each subsequent child is born. The main goal is to strengthen the social protection of such families, improve their financial situation and create better conditions for the upbringing and development of children.
To receive the 100,000 hryvnias, a family must meet a number of conditions. The parents must be citizens of Ukraine, and the child must be registered in Ukraine. All family members must in fact reside and be registered within the territory of the Drohobych urban territorial community for at least 12 months prior to the child's birth. This requirement also applies to internally displaced persons, who must have been registered with the Family and Youth Department for this entire period and hold the relevant certificates.
Another condition is that the parents must be employed within the Drohobych community. Minor children in the family must be studying at educational institutions within the community: gymnasiums, lyceums, colleges or universities. If, at the time of application, the parents are temporarily not working, they must provide a certificate confirming registration with the Drohobych Branch of the Lviv Regional Employment Centre, or a document confirming maternity leave, provided that their last place of work or study was linked to the Drohobych community.
The assistance is granted on the basis of a personal application by one of the parents. The application, together with the required set of documents, must be submitted to the Family and Youth Department within three months of the child's birth, but not earlier than the date on which the programme enters into force. All copies of documents must be submitted together with the originals for verification.
The list of documents includes copies of the parents' passports and their tax identification numbers, birth certificates of all children, and extracts confirming the registered place of residence of each family member. Internally displaced persons must also provide a certificate of registration with the Social Protection Department of the Drohobych City Council.
If necessary, applicants should also submit an act confirming the family's actual place of residence (valid for up to one year). In the city, this is issued by the building manager – the condominium association (OSBB) or the municipal enterprise «Upravytel ZhEO»; in the villages of the community, it is issued by the starosta (local elder). Also required are certificates from the place of work or study within the Drohobych urban territorial community, certificates confirming the children's studies, and a copy of the large family parents' certificate.
The final document is a bank certificate with the account details for the transfer of funds. Payments are made via Oschadbank, PrivatBank, Kredobank, Ukrgasbank and Sens Bank.
Applications can be submitted and detailed advice obtained at the Family and Youth Department of the Executive Committee of the Drohobych City Council at: Drohobych, ploshcha Rynok 1, office 210.
