Yesterday in Lviv region was marked by numerous cases of fires in natural ecosystems. According to the information from the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service in the region, 14 dry grass fires were extinguished, as a result, over 13,000 square meters of vegetation were destroyed. Dry grass fires were recorded in Sambir, Stryi, Drohobych, and Lviv districts.
The destruction of dry grass in the current weather, which is dry and windy, can lead to rapid spread of fire, making it difficult to control. It is important to realize that such actions are not only dangerous, but also punishable by law. Fines for arson of dry grass range from UAH 3,060 to 6,120 for citizens, and from UAH 15,300 to 21,420 for officials.
Residents of the region and all citizens are urged not to allow arson and to inform the relevant services if such cases are detected. Together, we can significantly reduce the number of fire incidents and preserve natural ecosystems for future generations.
