On Thursday, 30 July, the municipal enterprise «Drohobychvodokanal» will carry out scheduled repair work on the Ghirne–Drohobych trunk water main as part of preparations for the autumn-winter period. In connection with this, from 01:00 to 24:00 the water supply from the Ghirnianskyi water intake will be completely shut down.
During this time, consumers on the following streets in Drohobych will be without centralised water supply: Sportyvna, Truskavetska, Viitivska Hora, Boryslavska, Horishnia Brama, M. Hrushevskoho, Stryiska, Volodymyra Velykoho, Budivelna, Naftovykiv, the Mlynky neighbourhood, Rynok Square and the streets adjacent to them.
The water supply will also be cut off in Stebnyk and in the villages of Ranevychi, Mykhailevychi, Pochaievychi, Modrychi, Dobrohostiv, Ulychne, Dovholuka, Ghirne and Liubyntsi in Stryi district. The neighbourhood around Ye. Konovalets Street in Drohobych will be supplied with water from reservoirs.
The enterprise warns that after the repairs are completed and the pumping station is restarted, the water may be temporarily more turbid with a higher chlorine content. Consumers are advised, once the supply has been restored, to open the tap and let a small amount of water run, and during the first few hours not to drink it unboiled, using only boiled water.
