The accident occurred on January 30, at about 5:20 p.m., on Truskavetska Street in Drohobych.
As law enforcement officers have preliminarily established, the driver of a Renault Clio, a 32-year-old resident of Drohobych, hit a pedestrian, a ten-year-old local resident.
As a result of the accident, the boy was injured and hospitalized.
Investigators of the Drohobych District Police Department opened criminal proceedings over the incident under Part 1 of Article 286 (Violation of the rules of road safety) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty provided for by the sanction of the article is up to three years of imprisonment with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to three years.
