The man illegally created a pond on the plot of land, which led to the violation of the structure of the fertile soil and the impossibility of further use of the plot for its intended purpose. The offender faces up to two years in prison for unmanaged use of agricultural land.
As established during the pre-trial investigation by the investigators of police department No. 1 of the Drogobytsky district police department, a 60-year-old resident of the city of Truskavets illegally constructed an artificial reservoir on an agricultural plot of land in one of the villages of the Drogobytskyi district, which he later used for his own needs without any permits.
As a result of unmanaged land use, part of it was unreasonably withdrawn from agricultural use.
Detectives of the territorial division of the police, under the procedural guidance of the Drogobytsk District Prosecutor’s Office, informed the intruder of the suspicion of committing a criminal offense, provided for in Part 1 of Article 254 (Improper use of land) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum punishment provided by the sanctions of the article is restriction of freedom for a term of up to two years, with or without deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a term of up to three years.
The pre-trial investigation has been completed. The indictment has been referred to the court.
