Ukraine is in the spotlight around the world and many famous people come to our country to support Ukrainians and help the victims.
Actor Ben Stiller became the next Hollywood star in Ukraine.
He was filmed on camera in the heart of the city – near the monument to Taras Shevchenko. He was walking calmly around Lviv and talking to someone on the phone.
“Another Hollywood star has come to support Ukraine. Ben Stiller, thank you,” the caption reads.
Ben Stiller arrived in Poland on Saturday and then traveled to Ukraine
The famous actor said that the purpose of his visit was to meet with families who fled the war. “I’m here to learn, to share stories that show how war has changed people’s lives, and to strengthen calls for solidarity,” Stiller wrote on Instagram.
In a statement issued Saturday, Ben Stiller said he had arrived in Poland as a UNHCR ambassador to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. In the photo, which the actor illustrated the introduction, he is accompanied by two volunteers from this organization.
“I have just arrived in Poland to meet with families whose lives have been cut short by war and violence in Ukraine. Millions of people have been forced to flee their homes, more than 90% of them women and children. I am here to learn, to share stories that show how war has changed people’s lives, and to strengthen calls for solidarity, “Stiller wrote in a letter that was also shared by UNHCR in his official profile.
In the same letter, the actor also asked his fans to monitor the situation of people fleeing Ukraine and support them, as well as other people who are forced to leave their homes anywhere in the world.
“Everyone has the right to seek security,” he wrote.
In his Twitter, Stiller added that his visit to Poland is connected with the World Refugee Day, which is celebrated on June 20.
