Significant queues have been recorded at certain crossing points on the western section of the border for entry into Ukraine. Drivers are advised, where possible, to choose alternative routes for crossing the border.
As of now, the following are waiting to enter Ukraine:
- Hruszów crossing point – 30 cars and 8 buses;
- Krakivets – 150 cars and 18 buses;
- Shehyni – 140 cars and 13 buses;
- Nyzhankovychi – 35 cars.
By contrast, the Ugryniv, Rava-Ruska and Smilnytsia crossing points remain uncongested for entry into Ukraine.
For departure from Ukraine, a build-up of passenger cars has been recorded at the Ugryniv crossing point – 15 cars, and at the Krakivets crossing point – 10 cars. At other crossing points there are no queues of passenger cars for departure.
In bus traffic for departure from Ukraine, the following are waiting: at the Hruszów crossing point – 1 bus, at Krakivets – 12 buses, at Smilnytsia – 5 buses.
To avoid long waits, border guards recommend planning journeys through less busy crossing points and, where possible, crossing the border in the early morning or late evening. Current information on the workload of crossing points can be monitored on the Facebook pages of the Western Regional Directorate of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine and the 7th Carpathian Border Detachment.
