While patrolling the area, border guards of the Rivne department found two men near the Ukrainian-Polish border.
As the border guards found out, they had illegally crossed the border from Poland to Ukraine by swimming across the Western Bug River. This was evidenced by the offenders’ clothes, which were completely wet. However, the men were wearing wetsuits under their clothes.
It is not specified at what point the offenders crossed the river.
The offenders were two brothers aged 25 and 26, residents of the Kamen-Kashirsky district. The men had been living in Germany for several years. However, due to lack of work, they decided to return to Ukraine. They decided to do it illegally. The “travelers” took with them a supply of food and a wire-cutting tool, hoping to use it to overcome the engineering barriers. However, on the way to them, the violators were detected by a border patrol.
Border guards took the men to the unit and drew up administrative documents against them under Art. 204-1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses “Illegal crossing or attempt to illegally cross the state border of Ukraine”. The decision will be made by the court.
