We are talking about the fountain located near Taras Shevchenko Square, as well as the “Couple in Love” fountain in the center of Drohobych.
As Volodymyr Suda, the head of the “SMU” KP, told, traditionally with the onset of the cold period of autumn, by the forces of communal services, works are carried out on the so-called closing of fountains for the winter period. This means that water is drained from the fountains and pumping equipment is taken away. In addition, a frame is being built on the fountain near Taras Shevchenko Square and covered for the winter. In this way, the bowl of the fountain is insured against filling with snow and water.
Drohobych’s fountains have long been a favorite place for citizens and guests. Tourists take memorable photos near them and cool off on hot summer days.
According to Volodymyr Souda, the fountains will be opened to please the residents of Drohobych and city guests in the spring, closer to May.
In addition, these days, the “SMU” KP conducts intensive preparation for the beginning of the winter period. The utility company held a competition for the purchase of sand and salt and determined the winners with whom the relevant contract will be concluded. Also, KP “SMU” prepared all the necessary equipment for the winter and tested it. Closer to the end of November, containers for road sand-salt mixture will be placed on the streets of Drohobych and the territorial community.
