Hydrological Situation on the Rivers of Lviv Region: Water Levels Decline

As of 08:00 on February 28, 2026, a decline in water levels is observed on the rivers of the Lviv region. According to LvivMeteo, water levels in the basins of the Sian and Dniester rivers have decreased by 1–14 cm, in some places up to 22 and 25 cm, particularly at the Dniester in Rozdil and the Vyshnia in Tvirzha.

Due to snowmelt, a slight increase in water levels up to 5 cm has been noted on some mountain tributaries of the Dniester. On the plain rivers of the Western Bug basin and in the upper reaches of the Styr, water levels continue to rise by 1–14 cm, in some places up to 25 cm per day, particularly at the Poltva in Busk, where initial flooding of the floodplain is observed.

Most rivers in the Lviv region have cleared of ice, although unstable ice cover with edges remains on some tributaries of the Western Bug.
