The number of passengers paying cashless fares in Lviv has doubled in two weeks

Since Lviv introduced cashless payment for travel in all public transport (it was last year on December 11), the number of passengers who choose a convenient and cashless way of paying for travel has doubled. This is evidenced by the data of “Lvivavtodor” LKP.

So, according to the company’s data, if in the first week 16.3% of passengers used cashless payment – a general LeoKart, a bank card or a smartphone with support for the NFC function – to pay for their fare, then last week this number already amounted to 36.1%.

“Since the introduction of cashless fare payment, we constantly monitor the dynamics of its use by public transport passengers. Figures show that this number is increasing every week. Therefore, in general, we have an increase in non-cash payment twice in two weeks. This is without taking into account beneficiaries.

This is quite a positive dynamic. It is convenient and most profitable for Lviv residents to pay for travel with a LeoKart card, because then travel on a bus, tram or trolleybus costs the cheapest – 13 hryvnias. Or by bank card – UAH 15,” said Oleg Zabarilo, director of the department of urban mobility and street infrastructure.

By the way, according to the information of the “Lvivavtodor” LKP, more than 73,000 passengers of public transport in Lviv already have a LeoKart.
