A meeting with the heads and representatives of the youth councils of the territorial communities of the Lviv region took place in the Lviv OVA.
Today, January 27, representatives of the youth councils of 24 TGs of the Lviv Oblast gathered at the Lviv OVA to summarize the work of the past year, to discuss the main emphasis, challenges, problems and needs, as well as to develop a common vision of work for 2023.
“I’m glad to see young, purposeful, confident people who aspire to leadership. In these dark times, this is more important than ever. I would like that in the future there would be many times more heads of youth councils during such meetings, each TG would have its own Youth Council. After all, the participation of young people in active social life is the key to a free and progressive future. You are the future. While boys and girls are fighting at the front, defending the state, we have a huge responsibility on our shoulders – to understand this and do everything to develop Ukraine. Thank you to everyone for staying at home and striving to build the country side by side. We are ready to help you in all possible ways”, – emphasized the head of Lviv OVA Maksym Kozytskyi.
At the end of the meeting, a memorandum was signed between the Youth Council of the Lviv Oblast and the Youth Councils of territorial communities of the Lviv Oblast. The memorandum envisages the political, public and professional development of the youth of the Lviv region, increasing their activity and level of civic consciousness, promoting the consolidation and coordination of the efforts of the members of the youth organizations of the Lviv region.
It should be noted that in the Lviv region there are youth councils at 24 territorial communities – Boryslavska, Brodivska, Dobrosynsko-Magerivska, Drohobytska, Zhovkivska, Zolochivska, Kamianka-Buzka, Obroshinska, Pustomytivska, Rudkivska, Sokilnytska, Stryiska, Strilkivska, Trostyanetska, Khodorivska , Mykolayivska, Morshynska, Bibrska, Sokalska, Rava-Ruska, Zhydachivska, Slavska, Turkivska and Novorozdilska.
The main task of such councils is to ensure maximum youth representation in order to represent the interests of young people before local self-government bodies and authorities.
It is worth noting that communities are interested in involved youth for the development of their towns and villages, because the youth and sports department of Lviv Oblast often receives requests from them for help in creating new youth councils and strategizing existing ones.
