With the support of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, the fourth All-Ukrainian Forum of Forensic Experts was launched in Lviv.
The forum was attended by representatives of research institutes, forensic experts, PhDs in law and medicine, judges and government officials. Maksym Vasylyshyn, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Lviv Regional Administrative Court, also joined the discussion.
The event was divided into several panel discussions, each of which touched upon the topic of preserving scientific and human resources in forensic science, given the conditions of martial law.
They discussed the development of forensic activities in the SES, social security of forensic experts, preservation of the scientific and technical reserve, problems of forensic support of pre-trial investigation bodies, the potential of linguistic expertise, and DNA technologies.
“In the face of modern challenges and threats, forensic science is of particular importance for ensuring justice and stability of our society. We now have tasks that require a high degree of responsibility to work in extreme conditions. However, we currently have limited resources. The war should not prevent us from preserving and increasing our scientific and human resources. Highly qualified specialists are able not only to conduct high-quality and prompt expertise, but also to adapt to work under martial law. Only by combining our efforts will we be able to overcome all the difficulties,” said Serhii Rozumnyi, Director of Dnipro Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, in his opening remarks.
The event featured products and services provided by Ukrainian companies for the forensic industry:
