A tragic incident occurred on August 1 in the village of Rybnyk, Drohobych district, Lviv region. A 43-year-old man drowned while trying to rescue his wife and two children during a swim in the river.
According to preliminary reports, the family was relaxing by the river when the woman and the children got caught in a dangerous current. The man immediately rushed to help and managed to pull his wife and children to safety. Unfortunately, he became exhausted and was unable to stay afloat, disappearing underwater.
Emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene, but when the man’s body was recovered, he was already lifeless.
This tragedy serves as a stark reminder of the importance of water safety, even in seemingly calm conditions.
