Hydrological and Avalanche Situation in Lviv Region

A slight decrease in water levels is observed in the rivers of the Lviv region.

As of 08:00 on January 19, 2026, the rivers in the area showed a slight decrease in water levels ranging from 1 to 8 cm, and in some places up to 18 cm, particularly on the Dniester River near the village of Sambir. Most rivers were covered with ice, and certain sections had ice phenomena in the form of ice jams and slush.

In the next 24 hours, water levels are expected to fluctuate with a tendency to rise, but no changes are anticipated in the ice situation.

The avalanche situation in the mountains of the Lviv region also requires attention. As of 08:00 on January 19, the snow cover has significantly compressed, with its height at the Turka and Slavske meteorological sites ranging from 21 to 27 cm. A low avalanche danger (level 1) is forecasted for January 20-21.
