Hydrological and Avalanche Situation in Lviv Region

A change in the hydrological and avalanche situation is observed in the Lviv region.

As of 08:00 on February 16, 2026, according to the hydrometeorological network, 0.2 to 8 mm of precipitation fell in the territory of the Lviv region. A decrease in water levels from 1 to 23 cm was observed on the rivers of the Dniester basin, while in the area of the GP of the Strvyazh River – village Luki, an intensive decrease in water level up to 57 cm per day was noted. On the plain rivers of the San and Western Bug basins, a slight increase in water levels up to 13 cm per day continued.

Ice phenomena, such as frazil ice and ice crusts, were present on most rivers, with only certain sections experiencing ice cover. On the following day, water levels in the Dniester basin rivers will continue to decrease, while the rest of the region’s rivers will experience water level fluctuations with a tendency towards decrease, and intensified ice phenomena will be observed.
