“KORDON RACE 2024” took place in Lviv Oblast – a competition combining obstacle course and master classes in tactical medicine, mine safety, work of canine experts and even the opportunity to shoot a javelin with the help of VR simulators.
Such competitions were held for the third time. Among the participants are military and civilian population of various ages. For the first time this time, in addition to team races, there were also individual races, in particular among veterans and children.
“This is not just a sports and tactical competition, it is a cool celebration of sports and team spirit in the company of the best people of this country – our defenders. Thanks to the organizers, who made it possible to be involved this year not only as partners, but also as participants, because for the first time a civilian team was qualified to participate, and this is our youth and sports management team. We passed all the tests with dignity,” said Roman Khimyak, Head of the Youth and Sports Department.
In total, this year’s competition brought together 13 teams — representatives of 5 border detachments, the Academy of Ground Forces, the State Emergency Service, the patrol police, the canine training center, the military law enforcement service, and the “West” PMC. Each team consisted of eight participants: six men and two women. The length of the track is three kilometers, which passed through the forest, sand, swamp and water bodies, with more than 20 obstacles of different levels of difficulty.
