River levels in Lviv region falling and approaching record lows

As of 08:00 on 20 June 2026, most rivers in the Lviv region are seeing a further fall in water levels of 1–9 cm per day. This is stated in the latest hydrological briefing.

On certain stretches of rivers in the Dniester basin, water levels continue to approach the lowest values recorded over the entire multi-year observation period. This applies in particular to gauging stations on the Dniester River near the settlement of Rozdil, on the Stryi River near the village of Matkiv, and on the Orava River near the khutor of Sviatoslav.

Water temperatures in the region’s rivers range between 11–22°. The lowest readings have been recorded on the mountain tributaries of the Dniester.

According to the hydrological forecast, over the next 24 hours river levels in the Lviv region are expected to continue falling, and river discharge will gradually decrease.
