
As of 08:00 on February 25, 2026, according to LvivMeteo, between 0.6 and 8 mm of precipitation has fallen in the Lviv region over the past day. Due to thawing and snowmelt, the formation of a thaw-flood is continuing in the Dniester basin rivers, with water levels rising by 4 – 33 cm, and in some places by 52 – 58 cm (notably on the Dniester River in Rozdil and the Strvyazh River in Luki).
In the plains rivers of the Sian, Western Bug basins, and the upper reaches of the Styr River, gradual rises in water levels of 3 – 28 cm are observed, while on the Rodostavka River in Troitsya (upper reaches of the Styr River) the level rose by 37 cm in a day. Most rivers in the Lviv region have cleared of ice, but ice phenomena in the form of ice jams and unstable ice cover remain in some tributaries of the Western Bug basin. In the Rata River area near Mezhyrichchia, the ice cover is breaking up, and in some places, the ice is rising.
In the next day, gradual rises in water levels will continue in most rivers of the Dniester basin and in the plains rivers of the Sian, Western Bug basins, and the upper reaches of the Styr River. There is a warning about dangerous hydrological phenomena No. NGYA-I No.1 and No.2 from 24.02.2026 and a warning about changes in the hydrological situation No. Gk–8 from 23.02.2026.
As of 08:00 on February 25, in the mountains of Lviv region, at M. Slavske the snow cover is 1 cm, and at M. Turka the snow has already melted.
