As of February 19, 2026, the hydrological situation on the rivers of the Lviv region has changed.
Over the past day, according to the hydrometeorological network, up to 1 mm of precipitation has fallen in some areas of the Lviv region. On the rivers of the San and Dniester basins, a decrease in water levels by 1 – 16 cm was observed, in some places up to 29 cm, particularly on the Strvyazh River near the village of Luki. On the lowland rivers of the Western Bug basin and the upper reaches of the Stir River, due to the thaw, a gradual rise in water levels by 1 – 8 cm per day continued.
Most of the rivers in the region have cleared of ice, with ice phenomena in the form of ice jams and ice cover remaining only in certain areas. The following day, a gradual decrease in water levels is expected in the rivers of the Dniester basin, while water levels on the rest of the region’s rivers will fluctuate, with a tendency to rise. Due to the drop in air temperature, some strengthening of ice phenomena is expected on the region’s rivers.
As of 08:00 on February 19, the snow cover height in the mountains of the Lviv region at M Turka and M Slavske did not exceed 3 cm.
