The asphalting stage has begun on Horodotska Street in Lviv: work is under way on the stretch from Vyhovskoho Street to the Sknylivskyi overpass in the direction of leaving the city. For the duration of the works, a contraflow traffic system has been organised on the opposite side of the street. This was reported by the Zaliznychnyi District Administration.
According to the district administration, over the previous two nights, complete milling of the old surface was carried out on a 2 km section. The asphalting has been divided into two stages: first, new asphalt is being laid on the first half of the section, 1 km long; the second half is scheduled to be asphalted on Saturday. The following day, the contractor will raise the inspection chamber manholes to the required level on the part that will be asphalted over the weekend.
The repairs include partial replacement of the lower and complete renewal of the upper layer of the asphalt concrete surface. It also provides for raising the stormwater grates and manholes to the level of the carriageway. Works on this section, which began on 6 August, are scheduled to be completed by 1 September. The works are being carried out with deferred payment.
From Monday, similar repair works are to start on the opposite side of Horodotska Street — in the direction of entering the city. The city transport department notes that the public transport routing has not been changed: all routes are running along their usual lines, although delays are possible because of the operation of large specialised machinery on the road.
The City Council recalls that since the start of the full-scale invasion, capital road repairs in Lviv have been halted, but due to heavy traffic the surface on a number of streets has begun to deteriorate rapidly. Therefore, in 2025, repairs to Zaliznychna Street were started with loan funds, and in 2026 — to Mazepy Street. Meanwhile, on Stryiska, Heroiv UPA, Horodotska and Vynnychenka streets, repairs are being carried out with deferred payment, and on Konyushynna and Beskydska streets local entrepreneurs have contributed to the financing.
