Today, December 20, the Lviv Oblast, Zolochiv and Chervonograd RVAs and the communities of these areas handed over 15 SUVs to the new anti-aircraft battalion, which was created to strengthen the air defense of the Lviv region. Of them, 4 pickup trucks were handed over from Zolochiv, 1 from Chervonograd, and another 10 from a socially responsible business.

As Andrii Godyk, the first deputy head of Lviv OVA, said, 18 million hryvnias were allocated from the regional budget to equip this transport in accordance with the requests of the military. He also noted that Lviv Oblast continues to actively increase the capacity of mobile fire groups, which strengthen the work of the defenders of the sky.

“Another 15 vehicles are going for the needs of the anti-aircraft machine gun battalion of the mobile fire groups, which will cover the objects of the Lviv region. In total, we have already handed over 95 cars to these groups. The goal is 100 SUVs by the end of the year. In addition, more than 30 million hryvnias were directed to the air defense forces within the framework of the “Safe Lviv region” program this year,” Andrii Godyk noted.

The head of Zolochiv RVA, Vasyl Markevich, thanked all communities and socially responsible businesses for taking the initiative and participating in the purchase of pickup trucks, including Busk, Krasne, Brody, Zolochiv, and Lviv-Pak.

The main task of the anti-aircraft machine gun battalion, which was created in the Lviv region, is to ensure the work of mobile fire groups to cover critical infrastructure facilities in the region.
