Plus another victory and expansion of the geography of international cooperation.

Horodotsk territorial community became one of the five Ukrainian communities that won a grant within the framework of the “Kusanone” program, financed by the Embassy of Japan in Ukraine.

On November 30, a grant agreement was concluded as part of the project “Supply of endoscopic equipment to Horodotsk Central Hospital of Lviv Region”.

As the winner of the “Kusanone” program, the community will implement a project to purchase medical equipment: a video fibrogastroscope and a video colonoscope with an estimated total cost of $90,000.

The budget of the city council will provide co-financing – covering the value added tax in the amount of about 300,000 hryvnias.

Matsuda Kuninori, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Ukraine, signed the agreement on behalf of the diplomatic mission. The head of the community, Volodymyr Remenyak, who makes significant efforts to expand and strengthen international partnership, took part in the ceremony of signing the grant agreement.

During the signing of the agreement, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Ukraine, Matsuda Kuninori, noted that due to the war, the demand for medical equipment in Ukraine has increased. Therefore, providing such assistance to the medical industry is very important right now. The ambassador declared the solidarity of the Japanese people with Ukraine and assured of providing the necessary assistance to health care facilities.

Volodymyr Remenyak thanked partners and friends from Japan for their support, noting: “It’s nice to be among the winners of the competition and to have the opportunity to implement the project. For our community, this is truly an opportunity to get access to quality diagnostics and further treatment.”

Our partners in the implementation of the project were also the Association of Local Self-Governing Bodies EUROREGION “CARPATIA – UKRAINE”. V. o. Executive Director Nataliya Savka expressed her gratitude to the Japanese government for the long-term support – since 2016, two projects have already been implemented in the Lviv region through the Kusanone Program.

It is expected that the project for the purchase of medical equipment for the “Horodotsk CL” KNP of the Horodotsk City Council will be implemented approximately in April-May 2023.
