
Fire in Stryi: Man Rescued and Residents Evacuated
On March 3 at 05:26, the Rescue Service ‘101’ received a report of a fire in the city of Stryi on Kopernika Street, Stryi District. The fire occurred in an apartment on the second floor of a two-story residential building.
Upon the arrival of the firefighters, thick black smoke was billowing from the windows of the apartment where the fire had started.
Rescue Operation
During the exploration of the fire-engulfed apartment, the rescuers discovered the owner of the residence in one of the rooms – a man born in 1946. The firefighters carried him to fresh air and handed him over to the medics.
The victim, in a moderate condition with a diagnosis of smoke inhalation, was hospitalized in the Stryi Central District Hospital.
Resident Evacuation
Additionally, to ensure the safety of the building’s residents, the emergency responders evacuated four more people to fresh air.
At 05:55, the firefighters localized and at 06:22 extinguished the fire. 6 rescuers and 2 pieces of specialized equipment were involved in extinguishing the fire.
