Lviv: Restaurant in the city center will retain land lease until 2035, city council to challenge the decision

On Tuesday, January 31, the Economic Court of Lviv Region ruled to extend the land lease under the public catering establishments on Svobody Avenue in Lviv until 2035. This decision elicited a mixed reaction from the city authorities, which decided to appeal it.

According to Yevhen Boiko, the executive committee manager of Lviv City Council, an appeal is planned. The illegal land occupation began with the arrangement of a summer platform by the restaurant ‘Yazykata Tescha,’ which later transformed into a full-fledged dining establishment without proper permits.

By 2024, the situation led to the expiry of the lease agreement with the company ‘BiNP LTD,’ which managed the restaurant. Subsequently, in August, the Lviv city council approved the demolition of the building constructed without the city’s sanction. However, the entrepreneur appealed to the court requesting an automatic extension of the lease.
