Residents of Lviv region are reminded of the rules of safe handling of suspicious objects that may be explosive devices
Yesterday, in Sheptytskyi district, a man found a dangerous item while walking.
As reported by the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Lviv region, on 3 December, it was reported that 2 objects resembling obsolete ammunition were found near the village of Novyi Vytkiv in Sheptytskyi district. The dangerous finds were discovered during a walk.
All necessary actions were taken to destroy these obsolete munitions.
At the same time, the Department of Civil Protection of the Lviv Regional State Administration reminds of the need to strictly follow the rules for safe handling of suspicious objects that may be explosive devices.
It should be remembered that ordinary household items can be used to camouflage explosive devices: briefcases, suitcases, bags, packages, bundles, sacks, boxes, boxes, toys, etc., the appearance of which may conceal their true purpose.
Signs of suspicious objects that may be explosive devices may include the presence of wires, a small antenna, adhesive tape, suspicious sounds (ticking clocks, clicking), electrical power sources (batteries, accumulators) or wire tripwires (twine, rope), unusual placement of the object, and an unusual specific smell.
If you find a suspicious object, you must:
-Do not take any action, touch, open or move it;
-record the time of detection of the suspicious object;
-Do not use mobile phones or radio communication devices near the suspicious object;
-Make sure that people move away from the discovery at a safe distance;
-immediately notify the MIA, SES, SBU, and other emergency services, wait for the arrival of the operational and investigative team and explosive experts, and indicate the location of the suspicious object;
-If you find a suspicious object in public transport, do not ignore a forgotten or unattended item, and if the owner is not identified, inform the driver (driver) of the vehicle about the discovery.
“Parents and adults are responsible for the life and health of children, so it is necessary to explain to them that any suspicious object found on the street, in transport or in the entrance of a house can pose a real danger to their life and health,” said Ihor Tuz, Director of the Civil Protection Department of Lviv Regional State Administration.
