Today, cyclist Laura Morelli visited Lviv as part of the “Italy-Ukraine” bicycle race, which started on May 7 from Milan. The Italian woman decided to overcome a considerable distance from Milan to Lviv alone in support of Ukraine and to raise funds for the needs of the Armed Forces.
The Mayor of Lviv, Andriy Sadovy, welcomed Laura to Lviv, thanked her for her concern and drawing the world’s attention to the war in Ukraine.
This is how the Italian Laura Morelli (teacher, artist, cyclist) overcame 2,100 km alone. The cycling race lasted 20 days. The start of the cycling race began in the city of Milan (Italy), and passed through such countries as Italy, Austria, the Czech Republic, Poland and Ukraine. Rynok, 1 heroine of the cycling race will be accompanied by athletes from the cycling department of the municipal institution “Children’s and Youth Sports School named after George Prokopenko”. And the initiator of the creation and co-organizer of the bicycle race is the “National Organization of Scouts of Ukraine” (All-Ukrainian Youth Organization), which is the official representative of the World Scout Movement in Ukraine.
“Thank you for such a wonderful initiative, for supporting our state, for the good mood you gave us with your visit! Lviv is a wonderful city! Come to us more often!” said Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovy, and presented Laura Morella with a jubilee coin named after King Danylo Halytskyi.
