Honoring the Memory of the Heavenly Hundred Heroes
February 20th is the Day of the Heavenly Hundred Heroes. On this day, Ukrainians honor the memory of brave citizens who sacrificed their lives during the Revolution of Dignity, defending freedom, dignity, and democratic values. On February 20, 2014, the largest number of protesters died in the center of Kyiv. In total, 107 brave patriots became the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred, forever engraving their names in the history of Ukraine.
The Significance of the Day of the Heavenly Hundred Heroes
The Day of the Heavenly Hundred Heroes is not only a mourning for the fallen but also a reminder of our responsibility for the future of the country. Their sacrifice changed the course of history, awakening an awareness in society of the true value of freedom, the right to self-determination, and the European choice.
Today, as every year, we remember their feat under the slogan \”Grateful for freedom!\” so as never to forget the price paid for the opportunity to live in a free country.
