The Lviv Regional Center for Hydrometeorology warns that a high (class 4) fire danger is expected in Lviv until the end of the day today, May 23, and tomorrow, May 24, and on May 25-26 – extreme (class 5) fire danger.
The Lviv City Council urges everyone to follow the rules of fire safety and not to burn dry vegetation, because it is harmful, unecological and illegal. And don’t forget to call “102” and “103” when you see such fires and piles.
By the way, for arbitrarily burning dry grass, fallen leaves and other plant residues, which is prohibited in Ukraine, citizens face a fine ranging from UAH 3,060 to UAH 6,120, and officials – from UAH 15,300 to UAH 21,420. For the same actions committed on the territory of nature reserves, paliyas face a fine in the amount of UAH 6,120 to UAH 12,240. And in wartime, such actions are equated with sabotage, which entails criminal liability (imprisonment for a term of 10 to 15 years).
