Yesterday, December 6, on the Day of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, on the facade of Birkivskyi ZZSO I-III degrees named after T. Shevchenko, a commemorative plaque dedicated to the compatriot soldier of the 24th OMBr Shpytko Roman Andriyovych, who died in March of this year during hostilities in the east of Ukraine, was installed. Father Ihor and Father Roman performed the consecration ceremony of the memorial plaque and a joint prayer.
During the event, the students of the school, teachers, the class teacher, the school director and the clergy remembered Roman with warm words.
We will remind, the company commander of the separate 24th mechanized brigade named after King Danylo, senior lieutenant, knight of the order of Bohdan Khmelnytskyi Roman Shpytko was born and lived in the village of Birka, graduated from the Academy of Land Forces named after Peter Sahaidachny.
Roman’s sincere smile and positivity will forever remain in the memory of his compatriots. An example of courage, dignity and courage – this is how Roman will be remembered.
Roman died heroically on March 12 near the city of Popasna, Luhansk region. He will be 25 forever.
The deceased is survived by his wife Victoria, mother Galina and younger brother.
