As part of the Sv. Yuri celebrations in Drohobych, efforts by the authorities, businesses, and the community led to a charity auction in support of the 15th separate brigade of artillery reconnaissance “Chornyi Lis”. The event brought together representatives from the local government, businesses, clergy, and also international partners who arrived for the ‘Carpathian Sea’ forum.
During the intimate auction, a substantial amount of 1,522,210 hryvnias was raised. This demonstrates the high level of trust and responsibility among the participants, particularly local businesses. All the funds collected were immediately handed over to the brigade commander to purchase the necessary equipment.
The evening was opened by Bishop Yaroslav Pryriz with a prayer and pastoral words, emphasising the importance of both spiritual and material contributions. Lord Maurice Glasman also participated, acknowledging Ukraine’s fight for freedom and highlighting the significance of international partnership.
Performances by the Drohobych Municipal Choir, the “Oksamyt” Dance School, and students of the V. Barvinskyi Professional College underscored the resilience of Ukrainian culture. The Mayor Taras Kuchma’s thanks to all participants and organisers confirmed the community’s unity in supporting the military.
