125 thousand bulbs of varietal Dutch tulips are planted in the Lviv community

A large-scale planting of tulips in the Lviv community has begun. Ten varieties of plants, totaling 125,000 bulbs, will decorate dozens of locations in the city and in affiliated communities. Some of the tulips have already been planted, in particular in the center of Lviv near the Opera House on Svobody Avenue.

The initiators of the flower gift are the Honorary Consul of Ukraine in the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the Dutch-Ukrainian Chamber of Industry. In this way, the Dutch decided to support the Ukrainians during the war. The total cost of such a gift is about UAH 2 million.

Currently, the city Department of Ecology and Natural Resources is clarifying with the heads of community offices the locations of plantings and the required number of each type of flower, including red, orange, pink, yellow, purple and white colors. In Lviv, tulips are planted by district administrations around the old city, as well as in several parks and districts. Oleksandra Sladkova, the head of the department, noted that part of the plants were given to universities and botanical gardens.

By the way, the donated varieties of tulips are selected in such a way that they bloom as long as possible. So when some flowers bloom, others are just beginning. And already in the spring, guests and residents of the Lviv community will be able to admire a floral gift from the Netherlands for as long as possible.

Bulbs will be planted by park workers. Caring Lviv residents volunteered to help. However, given the large volume of work, volunteers will probably be involved in the landing.
