
Increase in Grassland Fires in Lviv Community
17 grassland fires over the weekend🔥🔥🔥 was the grim statistic shared by the department of emergency prevention and civil protection in the Lviv community.
Fire Statistics Since the Beginning of the Year
In total, 78 grassland fires have been recorded in the Lviv MTG since the beginning of the year, with eight grass burners held accountable. Six of these were for making bonfires less than 30 meters from buildings and structures. It is worth recalling that under the current legislation, this is also subject to a fine.
This year, burning grass began earlier and more frequently due to favorable weather. Since the beginning of the year, 30 fires have been recorded on the outskirts of Lviv. Most often, grass is set on fire from the direction of Bryukhovychi, Malehiv, Lysynychi, and Pidbirtsi.
Weekend Fires
- In Lviv, seven incidents were recorded
- In Sytikhiv and Lysynychi β 2 each
- In Gryada, Zarudtsi, Pidbirtsi, Maly Hrybovychi, Velyki Hrybovychi, and Dublyany β 1 fire each
Recently, a cigarette butt thrown into dry grass by a local in Pidbirtsi ignited about a hectare of dry grass, – reported the community office in Lysynychi. There was also burning at the end of last week in Dublyany, where the fire spread near the school.
The emergency prevention department reminds and warns: penalties for setting dry grass on fire range from 3,060 to 6,120 UAH for citizens and from 15,300 to 21,420 UAH for officials.
