Hydrological Situation in Lviv Region: Rising Water Levels

The hydrological situation in the Lviv region is characterized by rising water levels in the rivers.

According to the hydrometeorological network, the territory of the Lviv region received between 0 and 19 mm of precipitation over the day. On the rivers of the Dniester basin, there was a decrease in water levels by 1-32 cm. Meanwhile, in the basins of the Western Bug and the upper reaches of the Styr, water levels continued to rise by 8-43 cm.

In the area of the HP River Western Bug – Kam’yanka-Buzka city, River Poltva – Busk city, and River Rodostavka – Troytsa village, the water has overflowed onto the floodplain. According to the observer at HP River Poltva – Busk city, there is flooding of meadows and pastures over large areas.

The following day, a further decrease in water levels is expected in the rivers of the Dniester basin. In the lowland rivers of the San and Western Bug basins and in the upper reaches of the Styr, a gradual increase in water levels is expected to continue. Water will remain on the floodplains, with partial flooding of economic and agricultural lands possible.
