Two people were poisoned by carbon monoxide in Lviv

As reported by the Department of Emergency Situations of the Lviv City Council, Civil Protection of the Population and Territorial Defense, on January 13, in an apartment on the street The student got carbon monoxide poisoning.

In particular, a woman born in 1995 and a man born in 1992 were injured. The victims in a state of moderate severity were taken to the regional clinical hospital. The apartment where the poisoning happened is equipped with a gas column. The emergency crew of PJSC “Lvivgaz” temporarily stopped the supply of gas to the apartment.

By the way, this is the first case of carbon monoxide poisoning in the city since the beginning of the year.

Experts once again emphasize that the main requirement to avoid trouble is the flow of fresh air into the room where there are heating devices – through the window, through the door, and through the ventilation channel, which must be constantly cleaned, and in which there must be an appropriate draft to work out gases were released into the atmosphere. Where devices are installed with the flue discharge of combustion products into the chimney – i.e. gas cats or columns, etc. – this chimney must also be clean. And in no case can there be electric fans in such rooms. If one of these rules is not followed, carbon monoxide begins to form in the room and trouble occurs.

REMEMBER! Gas is explosive, and the slightest violation of the rules can lead to tragedy with human casualties – explosion, fire, poisoning and destruction. In all accidents related to the use of gas (explosion, fire, poisoning), you should call one of the city services: ambulance – 103, fire department – 101, gas department – 104, police – 102. Any of these services will notify the rest and they will arrive at the scene.
