Lviv continues its good tradition of recognizing the city’s best janitors. Thus, today, March 18, the contest “The Best Janitor of Lviv” starts for the fifth time.
The contest will be held in two stages and will last until March 28. At the first stage, residents can nominate the best janitors they think are best.
In the second stage, voting will take place. Based on the results of the competition, one winner will be determined who will receive the title of “Best Janitor of Lviv-2024”, as well as the best janitors in each district of the city. All winners will receive valuable gifts.
Candidates for the title of the best janitor can be nominated by filling out a Google form on the city’s Hotline Facebook page. Thus, the mayor’s office encourages residents to actively nominate janitors who undoubtedly deserve to be honored for their work.
“Today, more than 1200 janitors work in Lviv and we have more than 300 vacancies. Usually, these are simple, older people who make a lot of effort to make us feel comfortable. One person has to clean a large area of more than 2.5 thousand m2 – stairwells, adjacent areas, roadways, lawns, etc. This is hard daily work that is not particularly noticeable when it is done.
Therefore, we would like to draw the attention of residents to the profession of janitor once again. It is the residents who can best evaluate their work. We encourage everyone to actively submit their candidates for the title of the best janitor,” emphasized Orest Tymchyshyn, Director of the Department of Housing and Infrastructure at Lviv City Council.
This year, the contest “The Best Janitor of Lviv” will be held for the fifth time. According to Nazar Kushnir, coordinator of the competition, the number of participants is growing every year and the competition is gaining more and more popularity among residents.
“The competition is divided into two stages. The first stage will last from 11:00 am on March 18 (Monday) to 11:00 am on March 25 (Monday), 2024. During the week, city residents can nominate a janitor by filling out a Google form on the city’s Hotline Facebook page.
The second stage – voting for the nominated candidates – will start at 17:00 on March 25 (Monday) and end at 17:00 on March 28 (Thursday).
The awarding of the winners – the best janitor of the city and the best janitor of each district – will take place after the counting. The janitor who receives the most votes from Lviv residents will receive the title of “Best Janitor of Lviv – 2024″ and a prize to be announced later.
Only candidates submitted in the Google form at the first stage will be allowed to vote. A resident can vote once and for one candidate,” explains Nazar Kushnir.
