On November 3, at 4:59 p.m., the Rescue Service “101” received a report that in the city of Lviv on Ave. Chornovola, a medical mercury thermometer broke in one of the private offices.
The rescuers of the department of radiation, chemical and biological protection of the emergency and rescue unit of the special emergency and rescue squad of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Lviv region went to the scene of the call.
Rescuers collected mercury mechanically and carried out demercurization work.
The collected 2 grams of mercury were transferred to the Department of Emergency Situations and Civil Protection of the Population of Lviv City Council for storage and further disposal.
