In Lviv, the section of Trakt Hlynianskyi Street from Bohdanivska Street to the Provesin residential area will remain completely closed to traffic for at least another two days — on Monday and Tuesday, 29 and 30 June. The reason is the need for additional works to prepare the road base before laying the lower layer of asphalt.
To partially ease traffic, a lane has been opened for three days on Lychakivska Street on the stretch where works are under way to reinforce the slope with a retaining wall and where traffic had previously been alternating in each direction. As reported by LKP “Lvivavtodor”, the contractor has temporarily removed construction machinery and materials from the carriageway, and the slope reinforcement works here will resume after the main works on Trakt Hlynianskyi have been completed.
The Lychakiv District Administration explained that the condition of the road base on Trakt Hlynianskyi does not allow traffic to be restored without first laying the lower layer of asphalt, so the closure has been extended for another two days.
Due to the closure of Trakt Hlynianskyi Street, the routes of several bus services have been temporarily altered:
- buses No. 18 and No. 23 run from Subotivska Street to the Trakt Hlynianskyi — Bohdanivska junction;
- bus No. 29 operates on the route Vynnyky — Lysynychi — Provesin residential area (Provesin stop);
- bus No. 61 runs on the route Pidbirtsi — Vynnyky — Pidbirtsi.
Initially, it was planned to close part of Trakt Hlynianskyi Street only for the weekend of 27–28 June to replace a damaged water main as part of the road resurfacing works. However, in the course of the works it became necessary to extend the traffic restrictions.
Repairs on Trakt Hlynianskyi Street have been under way since the end of May. The pavements have already been renewed here, and after the replacement of the water main and the construction of the road base are completed, the top layer of asphalt concrete surfacing is to be laid.
